If you’re a fan of country style American music, then you’re going to love this from singer-songwriter, Nancy Hays! For her upcoming album, ‘Come Waltz with Me’, Hays has released a couple of singles, giving fans a taste of what’s to come with ‘1, 2, 3, Too Many Times’ and the titular single, ‘Come Waltz with Me’.
With a classic country feel, ‘1, 2, 3, Too Many Times’ was a previously undiscovered gem, written by Marjorie Reeves, who had co-written Hays’ biggest hit ‘Come Dance with Me’. It was at Reeves’ funeral where Hays spoke to songwriting colleagues of Reeves, who revealed the track to her – it was then she decided to proceed with the track, recording it for the very first time at Reeves’ family home studio, paying respects to her collaborator and friend with her song.
The second track, ‘Come Waltz with Me’, is a line-dancing themed classic that touches on the emotion and female perspective in dancing with a man. Telling a story of her feelings and reactions, it’s a fantastic song that pays tribute to a real American pastime with real storytelling lyrics.
Both singles are out now, having been released on August 15th and September 26th respectively, ready for listeners to get stuck right in before the full release of Nancy Hays’ 12 song album, ‘Come Waltz with Me’ – make sure you don’t miss out!
