Radiohead are officially taking their reunion global. The British alternative rock giants have announced a 21-date run of shows across Australia and Japan in 2027, marking their first concerts in Australia in 15 years and their first headline performances in Japan in almost two decades. 

The newly announced dates will see the band perform across Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Saitama, continuing the residency-style approach that Radiohead began with their long-awaited return to the stage in 2025.

Radiohead Return to Australia After 15 Years

The Australian leg will consist of 16 concerts across three cities.

Radiohead will begin the tour at RAC Arena in Perth, where they will perform four shows on May 3, 4, 6 and 7, 2027.

They will then head to Melbourne for six performances at Rod Laver Arena, followed by another six concerts at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena between May 25 and June 1. 

The return is particularly significant for Australian fans, as Radiohead’s last Australian tour dates took place in November 2012.

The band’s history with the country goes back even further. They first visited Australia in 1994 following the success of their debut album Pablo Honey and the breakthrough single “Creep.” 

Five Shows in Japan

Following the Australian dates, Radiohead will travel to Japan for five performances at GMO Arena Saitama, near Tokyo.

The Japanese dates are scheduled for June 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13, 2027. 

The shows will mark another major return for the band. Radiohead’s last headline concerts in Japan were in 2008, although they subsequently appeared at Summer Sonic in 2016. 

A New Chapter in Radiohead’s Reunion

The announcement follows Radiohead’s dramatic return to live performance in late 2025.

The band reunited for their first concerts since 2018, performing a series of multi-night arena residencies across Europe. The shows included four nights at London’s O2 and marked the beginning of a different approach to touring for the group. 

Guitarist Ed O’Brien previously explained that the band’s plan was to tour a different continent each year, aiming for roughly 20 shows annually.

The 21 newly announced performances appear to be the first major step in that plan. 

Will There Be a New Radiohead Album?

For now, fans shouldn’t expect the tour announcement to automatically mean new Radiohead music.

The band’s most recent studio album remains A Moon Shaped Pool, released in 2016. O’Brien recently indicated that the members had not even discussed another Radiohead record, despite the enormous excitement surrounding their return to the stage. 

Instead, the focus appears to be on celebrating the band’s existing catalogue through a limited number of carefully planned live performances.

That scarcity has only increased demand. Radiohead’s 2025 European reunion shows were hugely successful, with their London dates even breaking the attendance record at the O2. 

How to Get Radiohead 2027 Tickets

Radiohead are taking steps to prevent bots and ticket touts from dominating the ticket process.

Fans must register through Radiohead’s official website for the opportunity to purchase tickets, with registrations limited to a maximum of four tickets per successful registration. 

Registration for the Australian shows is being handled through Frontier Touring, while Japanese tickets will use eplus. 

For fans who have waited more than a decade to see Radiohead back in Australia — and even longer in Japan — the 2027 dates represent a rare opportunity to experience one of alternative rock’s most influential bands live once again.

And with the band continuing its carefully planned return to the stage, Radiohead’s 2027 comeback may only be the beginning of another chapter.
