For North Malawi’s brightest star, Gasper Nali, is bringing his trademark energy and dance music to the UK this autumn. With his unique and impressive homemade one-string Babatoni guitar in tow, Gasper is known for his captivating and joyous performance that gets audiences on their feet. 

His 21-date tour, supported by celebrated Reggae Poet Michael Mountain, is sure to be an unforgettable event. Gasper’s musical journey began when he busked with his two brothers at nearby villages. Following their tragic passing, he decided to continue their legacy and it wasn’t long until his story reached a much wider audience. After a video of him posted to social media garnered 18 million views, he was paired with project manager Mattias Stålnacke who helped to professionally record his music. Since then, his music has gained over 1 million streams on Spotify. 

As a true one-man band, Gasper plays his Babatoni alongside a large bass drum and kick pedal all at the same time with incredible skill and technical ability. His instrument’s custom made and thought to be the largest of its kind in the world, showcasing his unique and authentic aesthetic.
