A Curious Release from Highly-Tipped Lucy Whittaker

Lucy Whittaker is one of the most important emerging pop artists right now and her latest release, ‘Curious’, is a bold, brave and carefully crafted record that exceeds all expectation, delivering big synth lines, hard-hitting choruses and infectious vocal melodies. ‘Curious’ lingers long after its first listen, delving into darker territory whilst retaining its commercial appeal. Lucy’s latest single is her biggest triumph to date.

This release follows ‘ Who’s Gonna Know’ which drew notable acclaim from BBC Introducing and DIVA Magazine, later being crowned as Heather Peace’s track of the week on DIVA Radio. The single was also featured on Pop Affairs, Music Musings and Such, Vents Mag, Celeb Mix, and more.

Lucy is set to celebrate her 2018 success in Austin, Texas, after being invited to perform on the TCA stage at SXSW in March of next year. With her growing fan base and a phenomenal following in the LGBTQ+ community, Lucy smashed PRIDE Leeds, Manchester, Bristol as well as the DIVA stage, Leicester Square, London. She has also supported Clean Bandit, Craig David, Scott Mills and Anne Marie, alongside nominations for Best Record and Best Female Artist on the UMA’s 2018 longlist. Lucy’s 2017 single ‘I’m Not Ever Coming Back Again’ charted at #12 in the UK Viral 50 chart, and had radioplay on an international scale, with her debut ‘Only One’ EP breaking top spot on the Hype Machine Twitter chart.

In Lucy’s words:

‘Curious’ is about stealing a girl off a boy. I wanted to write a song which is honest and authentic to me and the situation many people go through, and I refuse to hold anything back. For so many people, that time when you’re exploring who you are and experimenting with people, gender, and sexuality is so exciting – it gives you a rush. I wanted to try and encapsulate that feeling in a track, and I think that’s what ‘Curious’ does. It’s playful, but it has a deeper message – be true to who you are, and enjoy it.
