Urban rap and hip-hop artist Jake Aldridge has released his stunning new track, ‘Fireman’, which sees him join forces with the talented vocals of Lisa Ambrose to form a highly listenable track.
Combining elements of R&B, rap, hip-hop and pop, Jake’s genre-bending style is sure to find a wide reaching audience. Lisa Ambrose, who recently won Battle of the Bandstands, hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank, contributes her voice to the song’s infectious hook, singing ‘you took one piece of my heart then you ran right out the door, like a fireman out on call‘. Ambrose has also supported Mark Ronson before working alongside Jake.
Together, Jake and Lisa make a potent duo, combining their varied yet, complimentary singing styles; Jake’s intelligent lyricism and rapping offering an alternative to Ambrose’s crystal-clear vocals.
As a result, the outcome is a truly emotional track, addressing the difficult topic of losing the one you love. Unfortunately, Jake is accustomed to this feeling, having lost his Father aged 11, but he then turned to music as a form of therapy and it wasn’t long before he discovered his innate talent for rapping.
