Jethro Sheeran, otherwise known as Alonestar, has returned with the anthemic ‘Lovelorn’ that features the talents of Rosie Ribbons and Massive Attack.
The track was produced by Sheeran himself with the help of Massive Attack’s guitarist Angelo Brushini. The single explores themes of heartbreak and unrequited love and also features the stunning vocals of top 10 singer Rosie Ribbons above a complex drum beat recorded by Massive Attack’s Damon Reece.
Jethro notes the track as ‘the strongest and most powerful song I have written & produced to date’ proving that ‘Lovelorn’ is on another level to what Sheeran has produced before. The track was co-written by Rosie Ribbons and Jethro also labels the song as ‘something fresh and different to anything else out there at the moment. I dug deep to exercise the darkness in this track, and fell into the depths of my soul when coming up with the concept.’
Jehtro has always put pressure on the quality of his work and you can’t blame him when he is related to pop superstar Ed Sheeran. However, Jethro wrote all of Ed’s SBTV and Live Room Performance raps and so you can see that the pair draw inspiration from each other, which only goes to prove Alonestar’s quality as a musician and songwriter.
