Bryan Adams is exploring a different musical landscape with “How’s It Goin’”, the title track from his forthcoming studio album. Blending country, folk and rock influences, the new single celebrates Canada through its landscapes, history and everyday characters, offering a more personal direction from the legendary singer-songwriter.
Bryan Adams is turning his attention towards home with his latest single, “How’s It Goin’”, the title track from his upcoming album, due to arrive on 6 November 2026 through BAD Records.
Released on 9 October, the track offers an energetic and playful snapshot of contemporary Canadian life. Moving through references to Vancouver, the prairie landscapes, Montreal, the Maritimes and the Yukon, Adams uses familiar places and cultural details to create a musical portrait of the country that shaped him.
Driven by acoustic guitars and a lively rhythm, “How’s It Goin’” introduces a sound that draws on country, folk and rock while retaining the distinctive songwriting and vocal style that have defined Adams’ career.
The single is part of a wider creative project that sees the Canadian musician explore his country’s identity, history and people through an entirely new collection of songs.
A Musical Love Letter to Canada
The forthcoming album, also titled How’s It Goin’, represents a particularly personal project for Adams. The idea developed after he wrote music for the documentary Canada’s Wild Eastern Edge.
Researching the documentary encouraged him to explore more stories about Canada, eventually inspiring an entire album.
Speaking about the creative process, Adams explained that he initially wanted to make a record about his home country. The experience also took him in a slightly different musical direction, allowing him to experiment with country and folk influences alongside his familiar rock sound.
Across the album, the singer explores Canadian landscapes, historical events and remarkable individuals. Rather than simply celebrating familiar national symbols, the project aims to capture the stories and experiences that contribute to the country’s identity.
This approach gives the record a more narrative quality, with songs inspired by particular places, people and moments in Canadian history.
What to Expect from the New Album
How’s It Goin’ will feature 12 songs, with an additional digital bonus track titled “Lake Ontario”.
The tracklist includes “Highway 16”, “Diesel & Dirt”, “The Battle of Lundy’s Lane”, “The Ballad of Terry Fox”, “51st State”, “When Canada Joined Newfoundland”, “A Handful of Gold”, “Iron Ribbon”, “The Bridge”, “Canada’s Wild Eastern Edge” and “Heave Away”.
One particularly interesting inclusion is “The Ballad of Terry Fox”, which references one of Canada’s most celebrated figures. Fox became internationally recognised for his Marathon of Hope, an extraordinary fundraising effort that aimed to raise awareness and money for cancer research.
The album will be released digitally and on CD and vinyl. Physical editions will include a standard black LP and a red-and-white splatter vinyl edition, while a special hardback book edition will feature the CD, lyrics and photographs connected to the stories behind the music.
Bryan Adams Brings the New Music to the UK
The album announcement also coincides with a series of intimate UK appearances planned for October.
Adams will visit Norwich on 16 October, Leeds on 17 October and Kingston on 18 October for special out-store events. The appearances will give selected fans the opportunity to hear acoustic performances, listen to tracks from the forthcoming album and take part in a question-and-answer session.
These smaller events offer a different experience from the large arena concerts that have characterised much of Adams’ international career.
The musician also continues to expand his touring schedule, with additional European dates announced for 2027.
A New Musical Direction for a Legendary Artist
With a career spanning more than four decades, Bryan Adams has established himself as one of the most recognisable voices in rock music. His catalogue includes international hits such as “Summer of ’69”, “Heaven”, “Run to You” and “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You”.
Although his music has traditionally been associated with arena rock and powerful guitar-driven anthems, How’s It Goin’offers an opportunity to explore a different side of his songwriting.
The combination of country, folk and rock influences reflects an artist willing to revisit his musical roots while finding new inspiration in the stories around him.
Rather than simply delivering another collection of rock songs, Adams is creating a record centred on the places, people and experiences that have influenced his life.
With “How’s It Goin’” now available and the full album arriving on 6 November, fans can expect a more intimate and distinctly Canadian chapter in the musician’s continuing career.
