The search for Britain’s next great singer is officially back. The Voice UK returns to ITV1 today, August 22, 2026, bringing another season of blind auditions, fierce competition and some of the UK’s most promising new vocal talent.
The latest series brings together a familiar coaching panel of Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones and Kelly Rowland, as the coaches once again compete to build the strongest teams.
The Blind Auditions Begin
As always, the series begins with the famous Blind Auditions, where the coaches listen to performers without initially seeing them.
With their backs turned towards the stage, the coaches have to rely entirely on a singer’s voice before deciding whether to hit their buttons and turn their chairs.
For contestants, that moment can completely change their lives. Turning even one chair means securing a place in the competition, while getting multiple coaches to turn creates the difficult decision of choosing who will become their mentor.
Familiar Coaches, New Competition
The 2026 line-up combines some of the show’s most recognisable faces.
Tom Jones continues to bring decades of experience to the panel, while will.i.am returns with his production and performance expertise. Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones bring their experience as musicians and songwriters, while Kelly Rowland adds her international pop and R&B background.
With such different musical perspectives around the coaches’ table, contestants can expect very different approaches to developing their performances.
And, of course, the competition between the coaches remains an important part of the entertainment.
A New Second-Chance Twist
This year’s The Voice UK also introduces an interesting change to the format.
Coaches will have the opportunity to bring previously eliminated contestants back into the competition, giving some singers another chance to prove themselves.
The addition could make the later stages of the competition even more unpredictable, particularly as coaches have to decide which performers deserve another opportunity.
Discovering Britain’s Next Breakout Artist
Over the years, The Voice UK has become an important platform for emerging singers, giving contestants the chance to perform in front of millions of viewers.
The show’s appeal comes from the combination of competition and discovery. Some contestants arrive with years of experience, while others are performing on a major television stage for the first time.
The 2026 season will once again put those voices at the centre of the show.
Another Season of Big Performances
With the Blind Auditions now underway, viewers can expect powerful vocals, unexpected song choices and plenty of competition between the coaches.
There will also be the familiar moments that make The Voice UK so popular — contestants turning multiple chairs, coaches fighting to recruit their favourite singers and performers discovering that one performance can completely change their musical future.
As the new season gets underway, the question is now who will become the next voice that Britain can’t stop talking about?
With a new group of contestants ready to take the stage, The Voice UK is officially back — and the search for Britain’s next big singing star begins again.
