If you’re a fan of Nirvana, you’re going to want to know about this! Former frontman to electropop outfit, Slutterhouse, Grave Jones is here with his third in a series of releases that is also accompanied by a video with ‘Lies’, coming September 29th. The releases are building up to his album, ‘Heartrage Hotel’, which is sure to have fans from all over on the edge of their seats!
In making ‘Lies’, Grave Jones has sought out the help of director, Karl Hadife, to make the music video. Providing a dark visual to a song that sees Grave Jones step away from pop-like sensibilities and pick up classic rock with a grunge edge. With band members, including Grave Jones, all dressed in black within the dark visuals, it gives the song the feel of darkness and rawness that the music deserves – lyrics and guitars are packed with a rawness, held together by powerful Cobain-like vocals.
‘Lies’ was written with significant political and humanitarian struggles in Lebanon going on in the background, giving Grave Jones the emotion needed to deliver this change in style with the emotion it deserves. And with an album on the way in ‘Heartrage Hotel’, a song of this quality and style will only serve to create enormous excitement for what’s to come, and with other releases under his belt in Heaven Only Knows and Smithereens, you can rest assured that it will be an album of the highest quality.
His album, ‘Heartrage Hotel’, will be the first release under his current moniker of Grave Jones, having previously used his real name, Rabbih Salloum when leading Slutterhouse. With a change in style, direction and genre, you need to keep an eye on Grave Jones’ quickly developing solo career – do not miss out!
