Heart-Softening Story from Oasis-esque Uneven Stevens

The track Paper Me might have more than a little Liam Gallagher around its gills but the story behind it is far less orangutang indie rock.

Having lost his job last year after many years in the medical industry, Richard Stevens was going through what so many of us have in their job searching – a wall of absolute silence. Not a ‘get stuffed’ nor a ‘definitely maybe’, just silence, the least helpful of all outcomes. Astounded by this, Stevens Junior (Oscar), sent a song he had written to one of the guilty employers, a track called Paper Me which speaks about how people are more than just Times New Roman CVs and are actually worth speaking to. Cheeky pup.

Anyhow, I’m sure you’ve guessed the punchline – it worked, the employer listened and he now has a job. Maybe not one to try at home but a brilliant tale of art conquering real life.
