We’ve never compared festivals to buses before but today might break our duck – having waited throughout these chilly times for any news, four festivals have teased their line-ups on the same day
First up, The Standon Calling Festival in Hertfordshire. A new one to us, they’ve managed to attract George Ezra, Paloma Faith and Bryan Ferry as headliners
Also announced is the line-up to 2000 Trees Festival in Cheltenham, with their coup being securing the performing services of At the Drive In for their only UK festival performance this year. It will be interesting to see if this rock-centric festival gains more attention this year.
Less information but no less of interest to many, Eminem has been announced by Denmark’s long-running Roskilde Festival as one of their headliners, the first time the rap superstar will have performed on Danish soil. With around 175 others acts yet to be announced, this could well be the barometer by which all the other summer festivals this year are compared.
Staying in Northern Europe, Finland’s Flow Festival, held in a disused powerstation, has revealed the first acts for this year’s event, listing Arctic Monkeys, Grizzly Bear, Kendrick Lamar and Fleet Foxes, among many others. Are these announcements giving any clues to the line-ups at the major fests in the UK this year?
