Ground Pilots, a band fronted by singer-songwriter David Tyrrell, are a group who make proper pop music. Often centered around an acoustic guitar, Tyrrell’s tunes weave delicate melodies – whether in the form of an electric guitar, flute, vocals or a plethora of other instruments.
The band are currently looking towards the release of a double A-side single for ‘A Billion Things’/’Castaway’. The video for the former is a creative, animated affair which sees Tyrrell in what looks like his favoured room for songwriting. A superbly catchy single, the chorus line “your love is worth a billion” and Tyrrell’s backing vocals pay testament to this.
‘Castaway’ is more of a relaxed single. Brushed percussion and classical guitar give the song a wholly wistful air. The video for this can be viewed here.
